Meet Our Doctors Dr. Melody J. SchifferDMD, Periodontist & Implant DentistryDr. Melody Schiffer was born and raised in Westchester, NY. After graduating college from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, she continued her education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Following dental school. Dr. Schiffer completed a residency in periodontics and implant dentistry at New York University. She then passed the comprehensive board certification process to become a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontics, and American board of Periodontolgy. She lectures frequently around the country, and has been granted a professorship at New York University. Dr. Schiffer currently resides in Suwanee with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys community service, travelling, exercise, following Michigan football and spending time with her family.  Dr. Nisha KancherlaDMD, MS, Periodontist & Implant DentistryDr. Nisha Kancherla was born and raised in Glen Dale, WV. She received her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She then completed her residency in periodontics at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry. During this time, Dr. Kancherla also earned a master's degree in Oral Science for her work in genetics and stem cell research, which was published in Molecular Cancer Research. Dr. Kancherla is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. A Diplomate is a periodontist who has made significant achievements beyond the mandatory educational requirements of the specialty and who is certified by the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Kancherla has been in practice for 8 years, working in Philadelphia and upstate New York before settling down in Atlanta with her husband and son. Outside of the office, Dr. Kancherla enjoys exploring restaurants, (novice) hiking, and spending time with her family. |
