Dr. Melody J. Schiffer, DMD
DMD, Periodontist & Implant Dentistry
Dr. Melody Schiffer was born and raised in Westchester, NY. After graduating college from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, she continued her education at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. Following dental school. Dr. Schiffer completed a residency in periodontics and implant dentistry at New York University. She then passed the comprehensive board certification process to become a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Northern District Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontics, and American board of Periodontolgy. She lectures frequently around the country, and has been granted a professorship at New York University.
Dr. Schiffer currently resides in Suwanee with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys community service, travelling, exercise, following Michigan football and spending time with her family.

Dr. Gary Greenwald has been delivering expert gum treatment and dental implant services in Gwinnett County since 1985. He practices on the philosophy of providing his patients with the highest level of care possible using the most advanced technology in a comfortable and caring environment.
Dr. Greenwald has completed thousands of hours of continuing education following his certification as a periodontist. He stays abreast of the latest innovations in his field and continuously works to provide the most minimally invasive and conservative treatments available. He was one of the first periodontists in Georgia to provide laser-assisted gum disease treatment and computer-guided implant treatment aided by 3D imaging. He is also an accomplished lecturer and trainer for fellow practitioners and has published his own research papers on various aspects of periodontics.
Dr. Greenwald loves being a periodontist because of the renewed health and confidence his patients attain after treatment. “I love being able to work with people personally on something so important in their lives,” he says. “This motivates me to keep learning new technology and achieve ever better results.”
Friendly and caring
Patients remark about how Dr. Greenwald is very friendly and puts them at ease. He spends a lot of time educating his patients and explaining their procedures in detail so they know what to expect and can relax.
"Knowing that I care and that I am there for them goes a long way in making patients feel better during their procedure," he says.
Dr. Greenwald graduated Magna Cum Laude and received his degree as a general dentist from the University of Maryland in 1981. He then served a year in general practice residency at North Shore University in Manhasset, N.Y.
He then went into periodontal specialist training at Emory University in Atlanta, graduating with a specialty certificate as a periodontist in 1984.
Researcher and educator
While in training for his specialty degree as a periodontist at Emory University, Dr. Greenwald published several research papers on gum disease treatment, diagnostics using scanning technology and treatment of patients with compromising health situations such as diabetes and juvenile periodontitis. He also gave formal presentations to practitioners-in-training on numerous aspects of periodontal disease treatment.
While in professional practice, he founded the North Atlanta/Gwinnett County chapter of the International Team for Implantology Study Club in 2011, and served as its Director through 2014. He also conducted hands-on seminars in Dental Implant technology from 2004 through 2008.

Dr. Greenwald has donated his time as a practitioner in the Northern District Dental Society Volunteer Clinic for the Special Olympics at Emory University. He is also part of a team that provides charity dental services for the less fortunate in Gwinnett County in a special event known as “Dentistry From the Heart.”
Outside the office
In his spare time, Dr. Greenwald enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, fishing, and physical fitness. He is also an avid musician and patron of the arts. He plays the banjo and enjoys bluegrass as well as other music of all kinds, from jazz to pop to classical music. He has been a board member of the Gwinnett County Philharmonic and a supporter of the Aurora Theater in Lawrenceville, GA.
Dr. M. Forest Butler
DDS, MS, PC, Periodontist & Implant Dentistry
Dr. Butler graduated from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1973 and obtained his Specialty Degree in Periodontics from Emory University in 1975. That same year, he began his private practice of Periodontics. In 1979, Dr. Butler received his Post-Doctoral in Bio-Materials Engineering from Georgia Tech with his Thesis on Dental Implants. He has written articles in numerous publications on the subjects of Dental Implants, Periodontics, and Bio-Materials. Dr. Butler is a proud member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, and the International Congress of Implantology.
