About Dental Implants
We're Atlanta's premier practice for dental implants.
About Us
We are aware that you may have many questions about what to expect when seeing a specialist. Let us explain to you what a periodontist is and what you can expect when you see us…
What is a Periodontist?
A periodontist is a dental specialist who is an expert in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases of the gum and bone that are caused by bacteria. Periodontists also treat gum recession and surgically place dental implants. Approximately 75% of all Americans have some form of periodontal disease (gum disease). If left untreated, these usually painless diseases can result in tooth loss.
Your First Visit is Important and Informative
The first visit is an opportunity for you to learn about us, and for us to become more familiar with you and your needs. We will perform a thorough examination of your teeth, mouth, and gums. After the exam, you will be fully informed of our findings and recommended treatment options.
Uncompromising Safety
Infection control in our office is also very important to us. To protect our patients and ourselves, we strictly maintain sterilization and cross contamination processes using standards recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
State-of-the-Art Care
Like other areas of medicine and dentistry, periodontics is advancing at an extraordinary rate. We can correct conditions today that were not treatable less than ten years ago. For example, regenerative techniques exist to help restore lost bone. Plastic surgical procedures may permit coverage of receded roots. Dental implants may be placed when teeth are lost. We pride ourselves on taking advanced training in the field of periodontics and implants.
We Treat You Gently
Our goal is to render periodontal care without fear, pain, or anxiety. Local anesthesia (Novocaine) is used to block sensations, allowing treatment to be performed comfortably. Dr. Butler is fully trained in the use of nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) which can be used to help relax an anxious patient. Be sure to discuss any concerns you have, including fears, anxieties, safety issues, etc. We are very sensitive to your needs and will meet them, we promise. Interestingly, most patients prefer simply local numbing of the procedure area, and indeed that is basically all that is needed. Adequate medications are given for any potential for discomfort, as well as copious instructions.
Fees and Payments
Before you begin treatment, an estimate will be given. We make every effort to keep down the cost of your dental care. Our front desk personnel will help you develop a payment plan that is mutually acceptable. We ask that all our patients take care of the fees for the initial visit and maintenance visits. The office accepts checks and VISA®, MASTERCARD®, AMERICAN EXPRESS®, and DISCOVER®.
